About the Weimaraner
Developed in the early 1800s at the court of Grand Duke Karl August of Saxe-Weimar to hunt large game such as boar and deer. Its sleek silver-gray coat and light eyes earned it the nickname Gray Ghost. Photographer William Wegman made the breed famous with his whimsical portraits. Energetic and clever, it needs a job to do and is prone to separation anxiety.
