English Springer Spaniel

About the English Springer Spaniel

A gun dog named for its job of springing, or flushing, game birds from cover for hunters. Show lines and field lines have diverged in appearance. Springers are widely used as detection dogs by police and customs. Millie, owned by President George H. W. Bush, was credited as the author of a best-selling memoir. Cheerful and eager to please, it needs plenty of exercise.
