About the Golden Retriever
Originally bred in the Scottish Highlands in the late 1800s by Lord Tweedmouth. Created by crossing a yellow retriever with the now-extinct Tweed Water Spaniel. Known for their soft mouths and love of water. The third most popular breed in the US. Frequently used as guide dogs and in search-and-rescue operations. Their gentle nature makes them excellent family dogs.
