Tibetan Spaniel

About the Tibetan Spaniel

Not a true spaniel, but an ancient Tibetan companion kept in monasteries. It is said to have perched on monastery walls, watching the surroundings and barking to warn of strangers. Small and catlike, it likes high places and can be aloof with strangers. Its silky coat forms a mane, especially in males. Related to the Lhasa Apso, Pekingese, and Japanese Chin.
