About the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
The smallest of the retrievers, developed in Nova Scotia to toll, or lure, ducks within gun range. It romps along the shore chasing sticks, and curious ducks swim closer to watch, much as they would approach a fox. Then it retrieves the shot birds. It is the provincial dog of Nova Scotia. Known for a high-pitched scream when excited. Red coat with white markings.
