German Shorthaired Pointer

About the German Shorthaired Pointer

A versatile hunting dog developed in nineteenth-century Germany to point, retrieve, track, and work on land and in water. Its short, dense coat is easy to care for, and its webbed feet help it swim. One of the most popular sporting breeds in America. Boundless energy means it needs vigorous daily exercise. Affectionate and eager, it makes a good family dog for active owners.
