About the Coton de Tulear
The royal dog of Madagascar, named after the port city of Tulear and its soft, cotton-like coat. Its ancestors are thought to have arrived on ships centuries ago. Once reserved for the Malagasy nobility, it reached Europe and North America only in the 1970s. Playful and affectionate, it enjoys performing tricks. Its long white coat needs regular brushing.
