About the Brittany
A compact bird dog from the Brittany region of France. In America it was long called the Brittany Spaniel, but the AKC dropped the word spaniel in 1982 because it hunts like a pointer. It is known for producing more dual champions, in both conformation and field trials, than any other breed. Energetic and eager to please, it is often born with a naturally short tail.
