About the Boston Terrier

The first non-sporting breed developed in the US (Boston, 1870s). Crossed from the English Bulldog and the now-extinct White English Terrier. The state dog of Massachusetts. Their tuxedo-like markings earned them the nickname American Gentleman. One of the few breeds originating in the United States. Judge, the founding dog, was sold for a then-whopping $2,500.
