About the Skye Terrier
A long, low terrier from the Isle of Skye with a flowing coat that falls over its eyes. Queen Victoria kept Skyes, helping make the breed fashionable. Greyfriars Bobby, the dog said to have guarded his masters grave in Edinburgh for fourteen years, is traditionally described as a Skye Terrier. Today it is one of the rarest British terriers and is listed as a vulnerable native breed.
