About the Siberian Husky
Bred by the Chukchi people of Siberia as endurance sled dogs. Rose to fame in 1925 when a team led by Balto delivered diphtheria antitoxin 658 miles to Nome, Alaska, saving the town. Can run up to 100 miles per day in teams. Their blue eyes are iconic but not universal. Have a double coat that can withstand temperatures of -60F. Known for being escape artists and dramatic howlers.
