About the Rottweiler
Descended from Roman mastiffs used to herd cattle for the army. Named after the German town of Rottweil. Nearly went extinct in the 1800s before being revived as police dogs. Despite their tough reputation, well-bred Rottweilers are calm and devoted family dogs. The first guide dog was a Rottweiler. Require experienced owners who can provide consistent training.
