About the Samoyed
Bred by the Samoyedic peoples of Siberia to herd reindeer, pull sleds, and keep their owners warm at night. Its upturned mouth corners create the famous Sammy smile, which also keeps drool from freezing on its face. Samoyeds pulled sleds on polar expeditions of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Its thick white coat sheds heavily. Friendly to all and a poor guard dog.
