About the Saluki
One of the oldest known dog breeds, a sighthound used by Bedouin and other peoples of the Middle East to hunt gazelles and hares. Dogs resembling Salukis appear in ancient Egyptian art, and some were mummified. Renowned for stamina rather than pure speed, it can run for long distances. Feathered ears and tail are typical. Independent and reserved with strangers.
