About the Pharaoh Hound
The national dog of Malta, where it is called Kelb tal-Fenek, meaning rabbit dog, and is used to hunt rabbits at night. Despite its name and resemblance to dogs in Egyptian art, modern genetic studies do not support an ancient Egyptian origin. It is famous for blushing: its nose and ears turn deep rose when it is excited or happy. Elegant, playful, and a fast runner.
