About the Miniature Schnauzer
Developed in Germany in the late 1800s by crossing the Standard Schnauzer with smaller breeds, probably including the Affenpinscher and Poodle. Bred as a farm ratter, it is now one of the most popular companion dogs worldwide. Its bushy beard and eyebrows give it a wise expression. Its coat sheds very little. Placed in the Terrier Group in America, though it has no British terrier ancestry.
