Maltese

About the Maltese

An ancient breed favored by royalty for over 2,800 years. Mentioned by Aristotle and depicted in Greek art. Queen Victoria and Mary Queen of Scots both owned Maltese. Their pure white coat was valued as a status symbol. Despite their tiny size, they are fearless watchdogs. The coat requires daily brushing to prevent matting. One of the oldest of all toy breeds.
