About the Dogue de Bordeaux
An ancient French mastiff with one of the largest heads in the dog world in proportion to its body. Used historically as a guardian, a hunter of large game, and a fighting dog. Its rich fawn to mahogany coat and wrinkled face are distinctive. It gained fame in America after appearing in the 1989 film Turner and Hooch. Sadly, it has one of the shortest average lifespans of any breed.
