About the Border Terrier
Bred in the Cheviot Hills along the border between England and Scotland to run with foxhounds and bolt foxes from their dens. Long legs let it keep up with horses, and a narrow body lets it squeeze into burrows. Recognized by its distinctive otter-like head. Easygoing and adaptable, it is one of the most popular terriers in Britain. Its wiry coat needs only occasional hand stripping.
