About the Airedale Terrier
Called the King of Terriers because it is the largest of all the terrier breeds. Developed in the Aire Valley of Yorkshire to hunt otters and rats along rivers. Airedales served as messengers, sentries, and Red Cross dogs during the First World War. Highly versatile, they have been used for police work and hunting big game. President Warren Harding owned an Airedale named Laddie Boy.
